Distribution Insight for the Craft Brewer

Having grown up in Columbia Station, Ohio and transplanted inadvertently to Vail, CO in

1990, Laura Lodge was first introduced to the world of craft beer through her brother, Bill,

who started High Point Brewing Corp. She has become familiar with all three industry tiers

and many of their inherent challenges through her roles as accountant, nightly order entry/

routing clerk, truck loader, delivery driver, and anything else necessary to High Point’s

distribution of the Western Slope of Colorado over the scope of about 8 years. As a

representative for High Point at many industry conferences and workshops, a more global

impression of brewery & distribution life became apparent.

 

Co-founder and Coordinator of the Big Beers, Belgians & Barleywines Festival, creator of

the craft beer program at the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa, staff coordinator for the Farm to

Table experience at the Great American Beer Festival and various salons at SAVOR for

the Brewers Association, and Cicerone ™ Certified Beer Server, Laura continues to be

interested and involved in all things craft beer.

 

This book is her effort to bridge the fundamental gap between brewers and distributors,

and show each how they can benefit from working seamlessly with the other.
